Professorship Program – Requirements & Guidelines

1. Program Overview

The EMI Professorship Program is a fast-track, merit-based academic and professional recognition pathway designed for qualified scholars, professionals, thought leaders, and practitioners who demonstrate exceptional competence, impact, and contribution in their field of expertise.

This program is structured to be completed within one (1) month, provided that all requirements are fully met, assessments are satisfactorily completed, and all documentation is verified.

Upon successful completion, candidates shall be conferred with the title of Professor under English Master Institute (EMI) Worldwide, in accordance with EMI’s autonomous global academic framework.


2. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

  1. Hold a Master’s degree or Doctorate (PhD or equivalent) from a recognized institution; OR
  2. Possess exceptional professional experience (minimum of 7–10 years) with verifiable impact in academia, education, leadership, research, innovation, governance, ministry, or industry; OR
  3. Be a published author, researcher, or thought leader with demonstrable intellectual contributions; OR
  4. Be a senior professional, consultant, trainer, or institutional leader with documented achievements and societal impact.

Note: EMI recognizes experiential learning, professional competence, and impact-based credentials in line with its borderless education philosophy.


3. Program Duration

  • Minimum Duration: 4 weeks (1 month)
  • Maximum Duration: 1 month (fast-track only)
  • The program operates on a structured weekly milestone system.

4. Core Program Components (Mandatory)

All candidates must successfully complete the following:

A. Academic & Professional Portfolio Submission

Candidates must submit a comprehensive portfolio including:

  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Academic certificates and/or professional credentials
  • Evidence of publications, books, articles, or teaching materials (if available)
  • Evidence of professional impact (projects, institutions founded, leadership roles, awards, recognitions)
  • Statement of Academic Purpose (1,000–1,500 words)

B. Professorial Research / Scholarly Contribution

Candidates must complete ONE of the following options:

  1. A Scholarly Research Paper (5,000–8,000 words); OR
  2. A Book Chapter or Monograph relevant to the candidate’s field; OR
  3. A Professional Practice Paper demonstrating original contribution, innovation, or policy impact.

All submissions must reflect originality, depth, and scholarly or professional relevance.


C. Teaching & Knowledge Dissemination Requirement

Candidates must demonstrate professorial teaching competence by completing ONE of the following:

  • Develop and submit a structured course/module outline (minimum of 10 lectures); OR
  • Deliver 2 recorded lectures or masterclasses (30–45 minutes each); OR
  • Submit evidence of prior teaching, training, or mentorship at advanced levels.

D. Institutional & Global Impact Statement

Candidates must submit a Global Impact Statement (1,000 words) outlining:

  • Contribution to education, society, leadership, industry, ministry, or global development
  • Alignment with EMI’s mission of borderless and transformative education
  • Vision for future contribution under EMI’s academic community

5. Weekly Structure (1-Month Completion Framework)

Week 1: Enrollment & Verification

  • Application submission
  • Eligibility screening
  • Document verification
  • Program orientation

Week 2: Research & Portfolio Development

  • Portfolio finalization
  • Research or scholarly work development
  • Supervisory guidance

Week 3: Teaching & Impact Components

  • Teaching materials or lectures submission
  • Global Impact Statement submission
  • Academic review and feedback

Week 4: Final Assessment & Conferment

  • Final evaluation
  • Approval by EMI International Academic Board
  • Issuance of Professorship Conferment Letter
  • Digital certification and institutional listing

6. Assessment & Evaluation Criteria

Candidates shall be assessed based on:

  • Academic or professional depth
  • Originality and intellectual contribution
  • Teaching competence
  • Ethical integrity and scholarly standards
  • Alignment with EMI’s institutional values

All assessments are conducted by EMI-appointed reviewers.


7. Conferment & Privileges

Upon successful completion, candidates shall receive:

  • Official Professorship Conferment Letter
  • EMI Professorship Certificate (Digital & Physical where applicable)
  • Authorization to use the title “Professor”
  • Listing in EMI Global Faculty & Professors Registry
  • Eligibility to supervise, teach, mentor, and represent EMI globally

8. Code of Conduct

All Professors conferred under EMI must:

  • Uphold academic integrity and ethical standards
  • Represent EMI with dignity and professionalism
  • Contribute intellectually and socially to EMI’s mission
  • Avoid misuse of the professorial title

Violation may result in withdrawal of the title.


9. Fast-Track Completion Clause

The one-month completion is strictly conditional upon:

  • Full and timely submission of all requirements
  • Successful assessment without the need for major revisions
  • Prompt communication and compliance with EMI guidelines

Failure to meet timelines may result in deferment or extension.


10. Final Authority

English Master Institute (EMI) Worldwide reserves the sole authority to:

  • Approve, defer, or decline any application
  • Confer, suspend, or withdraw professorial titles
  • Update program requirements in line with institutional growth
